Marie-Anne and Cecil are delighted to inform you of their Tango Venture.

We conduct classes for new people and anyone who desires to improve their dancing skills in the traditional social Milonguero Style of Argentine Tango.

Tango Involvement during the last 10 years - Cecil and Marie-Anne:
• Attended regular classes with Gaston Valdes from 1997 for 4 years.
• Involved in promoting the first Tango Show in Perth, through indoor and outdoor demonstrations.
• Performance d?but in the Tango musical- Una Historia Del Tango, at the Play House Theatre in January 2001 and toured with the show in Bunbury, Albany, Brisbane and Canberra in June-July 2001.
• Ongoing demonstrations at various functions.
• During 2002-2003, conducted Social Tango Classes at King Street Art Studio, Perth; and later on, held Practicas there.
• Attended various Tango Workshops by visiting Argentine and American Teachers in Sydney, New Zealand, Brisbane and Perth.
• Travelled to Buenos Aires – birth place of Tango – to discover the “real Tango” and “found” it from some of the Masters of the Milonguero style, namely: Susana Miller, Maria Plazaola, Ana Shapira and Raoul Cabral.
• Gave a number of solo demonstrations at private and public functions. Performed with Cuarteto Farol at various Festivals throughout Perth.
• Were instrumental pioneers in the establishment of the Perth Tango Club, which Marie-Anne and Cecil led during its infancy stage.
• Through their ongoing commitment to the Tango Scene in Perth, their main aim has been, is, and will continue to be, the promotion of the Traditional Social Milonguero Style of Argentine Tango.

Their 10 years experience have brought them to an invaluable understanding of the “essence” of the Traditional Argentine Tango – The Tango Embrace -, when two individuals form a connection with one another, through the music, and their dance evolves from the ‘soul’.

• Share with and teach new comers, in a personalised, friendly, caring and nurturing atmosphere where the main requirement is commitment - while the outcomes are: a spirit of fun, inner joy, freedom, balance and well being.
